Leadership that is Grounded in Decades of Service and Prepared for the Future
I’m running for Florida Bar President-Elect because I believe this Bar belongs to all of us. It deserves thoughtful, steady, and inclusive leadership.
The issues impacting our profession are evolving quickly—and many of them are deeply complex. I believe the role of a Bar leader is not to always rush to conclusions, but to listen, learn, and engage with a wide range of perspectives. That’s exactly what I’m doing across this campaign: traveling the state, talking with lawyers in every setting and stage of their careers, and gathering more insight.
While I may not be taking a formal position on every issue today—especially knowing I wouldn’t take office for two more years—I’m committed to thoughtful leadership rooted in transparency, open dialogue, and practical understanding. When the time comes to make hard decisions, I’ll do so the way I always have: with integrity, and with the good of the profession at the forefront.
A Florida Bar that supports all lawyers
If elected, I will serve as your Florida Bar President during the 2027–2028 Bar year. That may seem far away, but it’s just around the corner and by then, the legal profession will look very different than it does today.
In a rapidly changing landscape, it would not be responsible to make broad promises or detailed predictions. What I can promise is this: I’m listening. I’m showing up. And I’m relying on more than 20 years of experience in Bar leadership to help me stay grounded in what matters most.
Here are the priorities that will guide me as I continue this campaign and prepare for the work ahead:
1. Protecting the Independence of Our Profession
The Florida Bar is a self-regulating body, and it must remain that way. As President, I will work to safeguard the independence of our profession and preserve our ability to hold ourselves to the highest standards, free from unnecessary external influence.
2. Elevating the Resources We Already Have
Across our Sections, Committees, and Bar partnerships, there is an incredible amount of meaningful work happening every day. Valuable resources already exist to support lawyers in every practice area and stage of their careers. I want to make sure our members know what’s out there, how to find it, and how to use it.
3. Expanding Access and Engagement
When more voices are at the table, the Florida Bar is stronger. I’m committed to continuing efforts that bring new people into leadership and service, and to identifying innovative, inclusive, and practical ways to broaden participation. This is your Bar—and everyone should feel they belong here.
